SURMOUNT-ADOLESCENTS-2
SURMOUNT-ADOLESCENTS-2 is testing if an investigational medicine (a medicine being studied) may help treat excess weight and weight-related health conditions in young people.
The goal of the study is to assess how tirzepatide impacts bodyweight and cardiovascular risk factors when used in conjunction with healthy nutrition and physical activity in adolescents with obesity and multiple weight related comorbidities.
Status: Open to recruitment.
To join this research study, you must:
• Be aged 12 to 17 years of age with obesity
• Have at least 2 of the following: high blood pressure, blood sugars which are higher than usual (prediabetes), too many fats (triglycerides) in their blood
• Have been unable to lose weight by eating well and being active
• Do not have a genetic form of obesity
Location: Cambridge Clinical Research Centre on Keith Day Road, next to the Addenbrooke’s Treatment Centre, and part of the Cambridge Biomedical Centre.
